Seeking a proven operations leader with a track record of success within the global freight forwarding industry. The International Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operations, customer service, compliance, SOPs and KPIs. This position reports to the VP of Operations and will manage a staff which includes handling quotes, customer service, import/export, air/ocean.

We are seeking a driven and dynamic leader who can not only manage the tactical demands of leading the International Operations but also possess the leadership and communication skills required to effectively interact directly with clients (as needed); mentor, train and develop members of the organization, and serve as a strategic advisor.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Duties Include:
  • Managing, coordinating, and leading a strong operations team to ensure a best-in-class operations organization
  • Creating and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Creating, implementing and reporting improvement of all department KPIs
  • Analyzing and improving Client Satisfaction and Operational Performance
  • Communicate with senior leadership team and interact, engage, and develop relationships with the senior leadership team
  • International Operations Manager will coach, mentor and provide process development of team members
  • Training and development of next level leaders
  • Ensuring maximum productivity and quality of the International team
  • Communication of executive directives to all team members
  • Assist subordinates with Import documentation, review/advise as needed
  • Keep sales abreast of any major lane developments
  • Communicate with sales and other key constituents in the shipping pipeline to preempt customer concerns in order to improve business performance
  • Book/route import and export shipments
  • Quoting shipments
  • Routing/tracking/and communicating with customers
  • Determine routings for overseas and origins
  • Ensure all origins freight and documents are ready for carriage
  • Act as the last line of defense to ensure all documentation is provided by origins
Summary of Qualifications Desired:
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations leadership experience including several years as a leader of a business unit within the international freight forwarding or logistics transportation sector
  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline is highly preferred, however, relevant work experience will also be considered
  • Both Ocean and Air export/import experience mandatory

  • A proven diverse background in all aspects of international freight forwarding and operations within a dynamic growth environment
Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • JFK: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
