ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive Group, TransForm Products, Sterling Heights, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for overall plant performance, including preventative maintenance to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and quality, utilizing proper planning and coordination of parts, machinery, and labor allocation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Maintain education matrix(s) and associated records demonstrating compliance to the IATF Management system
  • Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
  • Support the Company's Goals and Objectives
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Responsible for supervising daily plant operations for all maintenance employees
  • Provide Job Instructions for the following:
  • Educate and adhere to all company-specific safety requirements and procedures; hold all department personnel accountable to standards
  • Ensure that Company policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge of PLC Allen Bradley Logic
  • Root Cause Analysis - formulates permanent corrective actions for operational efficiency
  • Maintaining production equipment and machinery in proper operating condition
  • Ensure TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance) systems are followed
  • Maintain proper MRO levels for maintenance and replacement equipment as applicable
  • Principal contact between the maintenance and the plant personnel
  • Responsible for ensuring that maintenance is performing prompt, efficient, and quality service
  • Manages the work order system for the timely completion of projects utilizing the most cost-effective and efficient approach
  • Ensures that projects meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Incorporates 5S and elimination of waste projects into the maintenance work order system
  • Evaluates and refines the preventive and predictive maintenance system to ensure that maximum effectiveness and efficiency is achieved
  • Maintain the spare parts program for the company's production equipment and makes adjustments to the quantity and type of parts that are maintained in inventory
  • Maintains appropriate records for equipment and service
  • Prepares a work schedule with interim and end target estimates for all maintenance projects
  • Keep work areas in ideal state, ensuring that all maintenance work areas are clean and organized
  • Ability to read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic prints
  • Mechanical & Hydraulic Press Knowledge, Rebuild and Installation
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Launch Reliability Manager

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Some college or technical trade education is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in plant maintenance
  • Maintenance Electrician, Technician, Journeyman status or equivalent
  • Usage of a computer, and other applicable office machinery, press and machinery control panels
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, its suppliers and customers
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria

WHAT ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW

  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds frequently
  • Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise
  • Must be able to work necessary overtime if required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to sustain the fast-paced demands of an automotive production environment
