This senior position requires proven experience in various levels of accounting. Strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals in a service based industry and interfacing with our accounting firm for timely and accurate reporting of financials and taxes. Familiarity with GAAP and IFRS to support auditing and reporting for our International locations.

Management of five direct reports which are comprised of a tightly knit team with an average of 25+ years at the company and overseeing accounting processes, controls and compliance.

Salary: $125,000 USD per year

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's in Accounting/Business preferred)
  • Accounting: 7+ years
  • Software & Systems: Strong Microsoft Windows & Office skills. Cargowise experience highly desired.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Analyze group payments by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports as requested, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains financial support staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as required.
  • Further develop careers of direct reports by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Interface closely with Payroll and HR to support annual audits and ensure proper allocations.

Education

Required

  • Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.

Preferred
  • Masters or better in Accounting or related field.

Experience
