Senior Vehicle Planning Analyst - Reading, PA - Penske

Position Summary:

Perform strategic analysis in support of Vehicle Supply and related companywide business initiatives. Proactively identify, analyze, and communicate trends and issues affecting the organization. Daily responsibilities include spot analysis, on-going trend reporting, and delivering clearly documented recommendations to leadership regarding all aspects of fleet management. Produce comprehensive used vehicle sales analysis throughout the year along with any corresponding recommendations for change. Create and present analysis timely to facilitate and influence real time decision-making by various functional leaders and counterparts. Take ownership and lead projects for department objectives while working collaboratively across the organization.

Major Responsibilities:

- Produce forward looking analysis to ensure accurate residual value predictions for our fleet of Lease, Commercial, and Consumer Rental trucks, tractors, and trailers.

- Ensure residual systems, documentation, and oversight processes are in place to validate accuracy and compliance with accounting rules governing the creation and maintenance of residual values for Penske owned vehicles.

- Perform analysis and distribute recurring fleet management reporting to support Vehicle Planning and related processes.

- Perform spot analysis and develop new reporting methods and formats to support changing business goals and economic conditions.

- Develop multi-year look-forward analysis processes to predict forthcoming disposals and new equipment purchases.

- Develop and execute analytics used to manage Vehicle Planning processes including Penske branded decal procurement, fleet telematics, GH pool vehicle fleet, etc.

- Provide analytical support for procurement activity to assist with the management and development of sourcing programs and processes.

- Other projects and tasks supporting residual development and fleet management as assigned by management

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, or Logistics required

- Master's Degree or MBA preferred

- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Penske in lieu of degree

- Minimum of 5 years of transportation industry experience in lieu of degree

- Must have a solid understanding of commercial vehicle specifications and fleet operating objectives.

- Solid ability to mine data from multiple sources using SQL, advanced data manipulation skills, statistical modeling capability, and the creation of professional presentations required

- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal direct oversight

- Requires a detail-oriented individual who can confidentially provide guidance based on self-produced analytics

- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
