Develop and communicate comprehensive maintenance plans, encompassing routine and preventive interventions, detailed schedules, and the necessary resources, skills, and materials required to maintain installations and equipment. Ensure plans are designed to minimize disruptions, increase production efficiency, and extend equipment lifespan through proactive maintenance strategies.

Your Title: Maintenance Planner
Your Location: Mt.Olive, NJ
You will Report to: Director of Engineering

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Production Planners to obtain production schedules, identify equipment involved, and plan for resources, skills, and materials for interventions.
  • Review plans with Maintenance and Production teams to validate accuracy and feasibility, consolidating them into a master plan.
  • Calculate overall maintenance costs, including labor, material, and service provider expenses.
  • Collect, organize, and update all information required for maintenance teams to perform interventions, such as technical drawings, vendor manuals, instructional materials, and standard procedures.
  • Identify deviations and document/communicate them in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Classify, sort, and distribute work requests based on type, such as emergency, safety, GMP, shutdown, reliability, or engineering, and assign priority status.
  • Administer work orders and related requests, including Bill of Material, special kitting instructions, and vendor services like contract vibration service, rigging, or licensing.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance activities and related costs compared to plans and budgets.
  • Maintain the status of work control and backlog for work request submissions.
  • Provide and maintain all necessary documents to meet audit requirements.
  • Help resolve important production problems.
  • Participate in lean activities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work in compliance with relevant requirements, including GMP, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and internal safety guidelines.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Your Professional Profile Includes:
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • 4to 6 years of work experience with a mechanical/electrical background in food or chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Knowledge of craft and skill requirements to estimate labor hours, material needs, and necessary skills to complete jobs.
  • Understanding of maintenance, planning, scheduling, and storeroom processes.
  • Proficient in using work order systems, with SAP experience.
  • Demonstrated project planning and management abilities.
  • Ability to read standard machine and process drawings, and provide clear, accurate instructions.
  • Experience with Enterprise Maintenance Management Systems (EMMS) is preferred.
