Timken Aurora Bearing Company is seeking a 1st Shift Lathe/Chucker Operator that will adhere to the safety, quality and productivity standards of Timken Aurora Bearing Company.
Chucker Lathe Essential Responsibilities & Knowledge:
- Set-up and operate Chucker Lathes adhering to the safety, quality and quantity standards of Timken Aurora Bearing Company. Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality.
- Select and change tooling, collets and associated machine settings to perform the body bore operation.
- Set body I.D. size, groove dimension and visual characteristics to meet print specifications. Select and set appropriate gauges to meet print specifications.
- Run 1st piece part, make necessary adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.
- Load parts, cycle machine, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality characteristics of part per print specifications throughout machining operations.
- Package and tag parts, complete all required paperwork associated with the process.
- Move parts to and from work area and scale as needed.
- Maintain all machine oil levels
- Sign out all necessary gauging equipment from Q.A. and set gauges per print specifications
- Sharpen drills and tool bits as required
Minimum Requirments:
- High School Diploma or GED (validation is required)
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment as machinist preferred
- Experience with measuring and gauging equipment preferred
- Experience with blueprint reading preferred
- Ability to stand and walk 8 hours per day.
