What you'll do on a typical day:
- Lead a team of Transportation Analyst that manage daily and weekly shipping schedules and delivery/shipping appointments for customers
- Ensure timely processing of customer deliveries to external service providers
- Investigate and determine the root cause of all service failures; implement corrective actions whenever necessary
- Develop training material around delivery release, scheduling, creation of shipping documents and labels according to customer specifications
- Communicate with carriers and customer service associates in case of shipping challenges
- Create Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) notifications and shipment updates using the customer portal
- Maintain established levels of productivity and quality standards within a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with both internal and external business partners to maintain on time shipping requirements
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- 4 years of transportation experience
- In-depth knowledge of the supply chain/logistics industry
- Availability to travel occasionally
It'd be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working in a Warehouse or Distribution Center managing shipments
- 6 years of direct management experience
- 4 years of SAP experience
- Experience with WMS and manifesting software as it relates to logistics applications
- Project management skills and experience
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively supervising, mentoring and influencing employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience as a collaborative, innovative and strategic thinker
- Solid customer relationship management skills
This job requires the ability to:
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 25 lbs.
- Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
