As an application engineer you will analyze customer application requirements and business goals to develop optimized bearing/system solutions. You will be The Timken Company's technical contact assigned to a product line, application type, or market segment.
Application engineers will participate in The Timken Company's technical training program. Our training program is one of the most respected in the industry and prepares you for future success. During this accelerated 6-month program based in North Canton, Ohio, you'll exposed to all aspects of The Timken Company business.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Understand internal and external customer needs by developing analytical models for customers that meet their engineering needs.
- Application modeling by performing studies and analysis covering a broad spectrum of complex bearing applications and assemble comprehensive customer proposals.
- Identification of solutions by selecting bearings and components. Lead new product/process requests and/or new product development projects. Review and ensure the systems surrounding the bearings and mechanical power transmission components will provide top performance.
- Compare all potential solutions for manufacturability, cost profile, and other attributes relevant to the customer. Present solutions to internal and external customers.
- Provide on-going technical assistance to the customer during various product cycle phases; concept design, development, launch and service life. Technical assistance may include travel and ability to present these complex solutions to the customer.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
- College graduate (December 2024 - May 2025).
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Engineering internships/co-ops preferred.
- Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities, or during employment.
- Ability to relocate to our World Headquarters in North Canton, Ohio.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
