Purpose:

Responsible to support the BPO Engineering for process definition & documentation, user understanding, process adherence, process performance metrics and continuous improvement for the "Order to Ship" (OTS) business process. This includes the key OTS sub-processes of validate & launch, product engineering, in-process design, tool & gauge design, tool planning and procurement and manufacturing implementation. There are also other periphery sub-processes that support the overarching order to ship business process such as document management, CAD drawing and model creation and change and support for KBE (knowledge-based engineering) relative to OTS process execution and the engineering product interface.

The OTS process is executed by new product introduction associates, product engineers, in-process product engineers, tool & gauge engineers, tool coordinators at manufacturing plants, direct & indirect materials procurement associates and manufacturing plant engineering, supply chain and production associates globally. The OTS process implements new products and changes to existing products and supply chain/manufacturing process and product rationalization initiatives.

12 - 16-week assignment

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supports the BPO Engineering to develop engineering process objectives and strategies to accomplish business execution and performance objectives.

  • Supports users and STAR's to understand how to execute their assigned sub-processes. Supports Stars and/or executes training when users change roles.

  • Understands the OTS roles created and assigned to users who execute the OTS process and sub-processes and ensures the responsibilities defined in the roles are kept up-to-date for their assigned sub-processes.

  • Responsible for onboarding new associates and/or associates who change roles. This includes role assignments, training assignments and reporting, maintaining team templates and in-work NPM process teams, key contact lists and email distribution lists.

  • Ensures process documentation, including training materials & work instructions, are kept up-to-date. Ensures users are adhering to the defined processes.

  • Develops and oversees the implementation of process improvement initiatives at the direction and support of the BPO-Engineering.

  • Supports the BPO-Engineering to collect and analyze key process execution and adherence metrics

  • Supports the BPO -Engineering to prioritize "break/fix" and "enhancement" requests for the IT organization to maximize business value and to meet compliance requirements.

  • Understands the use and assignment of team and workflow templates. Leads efforts to maintain/modify these templates for correct workflow tasks as well as task assignment.

  • Interacts with the NPM plant coordinators and other key subprocess leaders on a regular basis to discuss best practices and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Support the engineering master data and effectivity model maintained by the OTS workflow business process as needed.

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Experience with SAP ECC with understanding of the implementation of new product within manufacturing (e.g., material create process, material deploy process, MBOM, Routing, Procurement, PPAP and supply planning) is required

  • Skilled user of MS Excel; working knowledge of SQL; data analysis skills; Experienced with Microsoft office products and internet meeting tools (e.g. WebEx) is required

  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required

  • Communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills are essential

  • Understanding of NPM process is required

  • Business knowledge of engineering functions such as product and tool design is highly desirable

  • Knowledge of NPR and MOCR processes is desirable

  • Knowledge of Power BI is desirable

  • Knowledge of SAP security is desirable

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Technology with 7+ years of related experience

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder

  • Timken Experience Preferred
