Job Summary:
As a Customs Broker Entry Clerk within our dynamic freight forwarding team, you will ensure our clients' seamless clearance of goods through customs. Your expertise in customs entry filing, ISF filing, and exceptional customer service will contribute significantly to timely and efficient cargo delivery. This position is tailored for detail-oriented professionals with at least 3 years of experience in customs brokerage within the freight forwarding industry. We are also eager to welcome new candidates seeking a career opportunity in customs brokerage. Familiarity with CargoWise is an asset but optional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customs Entry Filing (Daily): Accurately prepare and submit all necessary customs documentation required for the entry of goods into the country. This includes classification, valuation, and ensuring compliance with all federal and international regulations.
  • ISF Filing (Daily): Promptly file Importer Security Filing (ISF) documentation for all sea freight shipments to avoid penalties or delays.
  • Billing (Daily): Generate, verify, and issue billing invoices related to customs brokerage services. Ensure timely and accurate billing processes to maintain financial efficiency.
  • Customer Service & Troubleshooting: Serve as clients' first point of contact regarding customs clearance issues, providing timely and effective resolutions. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Cargowise Experience: Utilize Cargowise (if experienced) to streamline customs brokerage processes. Familiarity with this software is a plus, enhancing operational efficiency through its comprehensive logistics features.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs brokerage or a similar role within the freight forwarding industry.
  • New candidates eager to embark on a career in customs brokerage are encouraged to apply. Training and mentorship will be provided to help you succeed.
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, tariff codes, and import/export procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple filings and tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customs brokerage software. Experience with CargoWise is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to resolve issues and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Salary:
  • The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
