As our next Liquids Manager, reporting to our Head of Operations in East Hanover, you will manage the production of liquid compounds, washed extracts and emulsions, and the activities and development of department personnel. Ensure that customer orders are filled on time and of the proper quality. Maintain the highest standards regarding quality of products, efficiency of production methodology and systems, cost management, industrial hygiene, food and worker safety and environmental protection.

You will work in East Hanover, NJ.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead a team of 100 union employees through two Managers and six Supervisors over three shift/five days of operations in a complex, classified environment
  • Build and maintain a healthy working relationship with other department managers and stakeholders.
  • Manage shop orders to fulfill customer requirements with products meeting quality and yield standards. This includes troubleshooting and addressing problems as they arise
  • Follow production schedule and deliver the products as committed by working with Supply Chain team and other supporting functions
  • Create production and quality metrics, identify inefficiencies and areas to address, and initiate/lead improvement programs, including capital projects
  • Provide management and coaching to department supervisors and specialists. Empower decision-making at all levels of the department. Coordinate all staffing decisions and obtain additional temporary resources
  • Update and improve site and department EH&S, food safety, and standard work practices and insure all department personnel are trained and build these programs to insure compliance
  • Manage all departmental expenses to meet annual financial goals. Implement cost-saving programs
  • Foster a culture of excellence, adherence to GMP and regulatory standards
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost savings, waste reduction, capacity improvement and process optimization
  • Serve on the site management committee and lead site and corporate programs
Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in a production management or supervisory role in a food, pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience managing a large budget and ensuring product quality
  • Mentoring and Coaching Experience
Additional Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a Technical Field.
  • Leadership experience in a union environment
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience
