Cargo Supervisor (3rd Shift) - Houston, TX - Staff Management SMX

In the role of Cargo Supervisor with the SM Cargo team, you will be the key to getting all inbound and outbound freight processed safely, accurately, and on time. Safety, security, training, and compliance are critical requirements for achieving operational excellence.

Salary Range:  The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $46,000 - $55,000 per year. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including but not limited to experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills and experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer a competitive benefits package. Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare for shift and meet with other supervisors for updates 
  • Oversee associate job performance and train to address performance issues
  • Train team on safety procedures
  • Verify that agents are meeting goals and completing logs
  • Monitor verifications of imports and exports
  • Monitor email traffic and distribute work

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or Ged preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in cargo management
  • Knowledge of MS Office software: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to solve complex problems, including finance
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
