We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the operation of our bearing manufacturing plant in Montgomery, IL. As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
The key resposibilities include:
- Production Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure production targets are met efficiently and within budget.
- Implement and monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Quality Assurance:
- Uphold high standards of product quality and consistency through adherence to manufacturing best practices and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement and maintain quality management systems (ISO9001 and AS9100.).
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and motivate a team of production supervisors, analysts, and operators to achieve operational goals and foster a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and performance.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment and practices to minimize workplace incidents and injuries.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of manufacturing operations, including process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Supply Chain and Logistics:
- Coordinate closely with supply chain management to optimize inventory levels, procurement strategies, and logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 8 years of proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and lean methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
