Summary
The shipping and receiving functions are essential part of the ISCO Industries' distribution network. We are always looking for individuals that are problem solvers with passion for continuous improvement to join our team. The Shipping and Receiving associates are responsible for verifying and keeping accurate records on incoming, stocking, outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties:
- Safely, accurately and efficiently loading and unloading of products
- Verifies products received from suppliers against the packing lists
- Stores products to the appropriate category shelves
- Accurately picking products based on the computer-generated pick tickets
- Determines the best method of packing products to ensure adequate product protection during transit
- Uses the Transportation Management System (TMS) to select the best shipping mode and freight carrier to ensure products are delivered to customers with the shortest lead time and the lowest transportation cost
- Uses the ERP system (Epicor-Prelude) to maintain inventory accuracy and data integrity
- Conducts daily cycle counts and investigating the root cause of problems
- Makes recommendations to improve processes and work environment
- Opportunities to participate and support large projects such as out of town warehouse expansions and physical inventory
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED
- Data entry experience
- Forklift experience or able to be trained and certified to operate forklift
- Outlook email proficiency
- Prior warehouse, shipping, and/or distribution experience preferred
- Clearly and effectively communicate using email and telephone shipping related information to customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Organize and prioritize work orders to meet shipping
- Audit work to ensure accuracy and completeness of shipping orders; attention to detail
- Identify potential delays and/or address immediate shipping delays and provide an effective and timely resolution and/or contingency plan; problem solving
- Work independently with limited supervision; self-starter
- Constantly:
- Exerting 10 pounds of force to move objects
- Frequently:
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force, occasionally up to 70 pounds
- Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking
- Talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuity
