As the Senior State Tax Analyst, you will support the company's property tax return preparation, property tax audits, income tax compliance, state tax planning, and income tax provision. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Assist with income tax compliance and preparation of apportionment and tax estimates.
- Assist with the preparation of property tax returns with potential to grow into a review role.
- Assist with and gain exposure to compliance preparation related to sales/use tax, Canadian GST, annual reports, and business licenses.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness for all tax general ledger accounts.
- Assist with process improvements related to the entire property compliance process.
- Assist with property audits as the primary liaison between the state and GXO.
- Collaborate with the tax team to create reports and work on special projects for upper management in areas including effective tax rate, cash taxes, and indirect taxes.
- Research various state tax issues to ensure accuracy within the compliance process.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent related work experience.
- 2 years of related state tax experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
It'd be great if you also have:
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- CPA certification.
- Experience with CorpTax and PTMS software.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
