Job Description
- Ensure Import / Export Transactions comply with U.S. Government Regulations under Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS), Schedule B classifications and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
- Sound Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Codes, metal import experience, steel licensing, exclusions preferred
- Strong FDA Experience
- Tracking of inbound shipments with Shipping Lines/Airlines
- Must have full understanding of LTL/TL carriers and Delivery Orders
- Provide clientele with daily updates
- Knowledge of ISF Filing procedures
- Recognize routine and non-routine transactions for elevating discrepancies
- Negotiate rates with carriers and quote clients
Job Requirements
- Candidate must have at least 4 years of experience with Customs Broker/NVOCC or Freight Forwarder in Import Department
- Candidate must have strong classification skills across a wide variety of commodities, strong ADD/CVD/FDA experience preferred and excellent communication skills
- Seeking an energetic, motivated person who can handle fast pace industry with demanding clientele.
- Person must be detail oriented and very organized.
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of regulations of the following USG agencies: CBP, BIS, Census and other Government Agencies, Licensed Individual is a plus
