Position Summary
Timken is seeking a dedicated and experienced Audit Lab Technical Analyst to join our winning team. This position will lead the test bearing program and be responsible for performing the critical bearing inspection activities and managing damage analysis events. The Audit Lab Technical Analyst regularly interfaces with sales, engineering, and customers at all levels of the organization. This position will support customer and Association of American Railroads (AAR) audits, as required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead bearing investigations related to field failures and product returns. This position requires you to work in a manufacturing setting and be hands on when conducting studies, testing and analysis.
- Maintain and organize records related to bearing inspections.
- Work closely with corporate support teams, service engineers and customers to correlate field data and assist in field bearing inspections.
- Complete engineering projects resulting from industry rule changes or customer engineering needs.
- Supervise audit lab technician and assign daily duties, as well as special projects.
- Prepare and issue timely formal response to damage analysis requests to all stakeholders as required.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, database, statistical software).
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to effectively manage projects and root cause problem solve.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering, engineering tech, business or related field, or actively pursuing the same.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering tech or related fields.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings with technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
