Position Summary:
Provide operational leadership to a team of salaried supervisors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including parts follow-up, supplier management, customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and objectives. Supervises most processes which directly impact our team and customer. Responsible for making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings. Reviews and drives account specific KPI's based on parts follow-up requirements. Partners with supervisor team to put processes in place to exceed customers' day-to-day expectations. Actively looks for continuous improvement opportunities to streamline daily processes and activities.
This position is located onsite with our customer in Warren, MI. Candidate must be willing to work 3 days onsite with an expectation that there could be a need to work 5 days (M-F) onsite.
Major Responsibilities:
People:
-Partner with supervisors to communicate and drive performance standards that are specific and measurable, ensure team is fully staffed, play an active role in the interview process, and provide recommendations for hire, monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed.
Operations:
-Lead supervisory logistics operations including customer service, material follow-up, supplier compliance, backorders, ensure proper documentation and procedure controls are in place to lead the account, Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of operations. Assist in new associate training, Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift, Have a thorough working knowledge of the accounts operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution, Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
Safety:
-Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategy, provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance, Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures.
Growth / Customer Experience:
-Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives, Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives, determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
-2 - 5 years related functional experience.
-Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
-Previous experience in a supervisory role
-Must have strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
-Strong customer service skills
-Must be skilled in problem solving with a continuous improvement mindset
-Needs to be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations
-Ability to lead and develop a team of salaried supervisors
-Must be able to develop and maintain a strong professional relationship with the customer
-Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
-Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
